KDL32w5500

The Sony KDL32w5500 is one of the best choices available if you are looking at buying a 32 inch LCD TV as it has all of the latest Sony technology and produces a breath-taking picture quality. This is mainly due to the full HD 1080p picture that the KDL32w5500 produces but along with this it also has the Bravia 3 image processing technology which further enhances the picture quality.

The latest Bravia LCD TV's from Sony are very stylish and the KDL32w5500 is no exception as it is very sleek and looks wonderful in the lounge or even the bedroom. It is the picture quality of the Sony KDL32w5500 that is most impressive though as aswell as having the full HD 1080p picture and the Bravia 3 engine it also has lots of other advanced technology. These include the 100Hz Motionflow technology that offers a very smooth picture as it intelligently adds extra frames between the existing frames to give a smoother flow and this is very noticeable on fast moving images and looks very impressive. The contrast ratio is also very impressive on the Sony Bravia KDL32w5500 with 80,000:1 being produced and this offers a stunning level of detail in dark scenes.

The KDL32w5500 LCD TV is also very connectable as it has the DNLA technology which enables you to share digital content on your home network and so you can easily watch movies from your computer on your KDL32w5500 LCD TV just by connecting an ethernet cable. And as well as this is also has the USB media player which makes it easy for you to display photos and other media on the TV.

Received this Television today and have set it up in almost no time and spent the last five or six hours watching it! I acquired this to replace a Samsung LE32R87BD which was a little flawed. The menu system is really easy ( it involves the use of the XcrossMediaBar like in a PS3 which is so simple to navigate ) which makes refining straightforward.

What a difference! Out of the box, the picture wishes quite a lot of tweaking ( as always ) to get right ( if you have a copy of Finding Nemo on DVD it has the THX Optimiser on it to set the picture properly ). Colours are pragmatic and clear, motion blur isn't really obvious thanks to the 100Hz Motion Flow feature. Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull on Blu Ray looks actually nice. Fast moving scenes are clear and the blacks in dark scenes are inky black but still show heaps of detail thanks to the 80,000:1 contrast proportion. I spotted this watching The Terminator in HD, in some of the first scenes it was extremely conspicuous. If you switch motion flow to Standard no artifacts appear to appear though which is good.

I'm very pleased with this acquisition, it's much better than my last set and that was only about two years of age, shows how quick LCD technology is advancing.

The set itself is fantastic. Always been hot for Sony's and they are obviously keeping up the sterling work. Assembly was awfully easy, and I believed the instructions were clear enough for my use. Build quality of the TV is wonderful : good strong construction and masses of sockets for connectivity. The set itself looks incredible with its glossy black finish and reflective strip. This new Sony Bravia is obviously a step up and it shows.

Nice screen with some smart smart features to dilate the picture proportionately, manufacturing near cinematic images for the likes of EastEnders. Also read about clouding and ghosting, particularly on darker pictures. As regards the 100hz Motionflow, I did spot the difference particularly in 32inches. We are immediately replacing our rickety old DVD player with a newer one that upscale's to 1080 so I know that will work brilliantly.

In particulars of sound, this Television also beats the pants off almost all of the competition. Having the spokesperson panel on a strip below the screen facing forward makes all the difference. The sole rival maybe was the Panasonic, but then the Panasonic did not have the same features. I also like the way that the Television incorporates pre-set modes for both sound and picture : general, theatre, concerts, for example. Energy saving features are quite useful also.

However this is the one area where the Bravia falls a bit. However we have found that you have got to leave it on stand-by now and then so the Guide Plus Programme Guide can update itself. Not a big problem, and the Television consumes only about 0.15W on stand-by ( or about 0.12% of normal switched on consumption ), and half as much as say the most modern Panasonic.

All in all, I am content to assert that after a large amount of research, we have chose a winner.

Amazing value for money. Speaking of cash, I could not think the price differences on the market. Believed there was meant to be a recession on? With assistance from Amazon, we got new hardware ( the Television itself rolled off the line only a month back ), and leading edge technology, for roughly a 3rd off the high st costs.
